I do appreciate the in-jokes, from a veteran telling you not to sneeze around the boss, to the twitter user "Mark4Lyfe." And some of the writing is funny, like when your character called Cameron Grimes a steampunk Chippendale's dancer. That said, I haven't "beat" either story yet and I don't know how long or involved they are. Oddly in this one you have Japanese history as well. I played a little 2K22 last year when it was on sale, and I have to admit I think I liked the story better in that one, where you're an indie wrestler with Japanese experience and you come into NXT with one friendly guy and one douchebag. It seems like something the one friend who watches wrestling could use to introduce wrestling to others. I can see the CAW thing bringing in even non-fans, because wrestling is universally known even if not universally watched, and there's people out there that make Woody wrestling Buzz Lightyear, or any number of real-life celebrities. I've tried to selfies from people I know and I'm gonna have to ask them to post directly for this, because just a normal selfie, even front-facing, doesn't seem to work. That said, I haven't been able to figure out the photo upload thing. I thought it would be funny to make my friends into wrestlers, but damn, I need to make only one a day otherwise I spend three hours getting it juuuuust right. Honestly, it's so detailed it's almost tedious. You can make adjustments to so many little things, it doesn't surprise me people can make photo-perfect Mercedes Mones and Kris Statdlanders. I have a PS5 now, so that helped my decision, along with thinking how funny it would be to wrestle as Bad Bunny. I bought WWE 2K23 on Friday because I figured it's good to have a wrestling game you can get one every few years, kinda like FIFA.
